Hybrid ODeL and ETEEAP Workshop

BSU program coordinators and faculty gathered at Carnation Hall for the workshop’s last day, focusing on ODeL instructional materials, institutional readiness, and flexible degree pathways for working professionals through ETEEAP.

Hybrid ODeL and ETEEAP Workshop

The Hybrid ODeL and ETEEAP Workshop was held at Carnation Hall, Research and Extension Building, and gathered program coordinators and faculty from several Benguet State University colleges: CPAG, CA, CIS, CHE, and CAH.

Dr. Roscinto Ian C. Lumbres, Vice President for Research and Extension, opened the program with an inspirational message. He stressed that ODeL and ETEEAP can open doors for people who could not finish their formal studies but have kept working and building professional experience. By recognizing their existing knowledge, skills, and experience, these programs let qualified individuals pursue or complete a degree through flexible alternatives to conventional face-to-face education.

The final session was led by Dr. Felina Panas-Espique, Vice President for Academic Affairs of Saint Louis University, Baguio City. She spoke on instructional materials and course preparation for ODeL delivery, noting that well-prepared modules, textbooks or instructional booklets, and syllabi are essential in a flexible learning environment. Modules and booklets guide learners through the course, while a comprehensive syllabus sets out the objectives, content, activities, learning outcomes, and assessment. She also urged faculty teaching through ODeL to organize their resources carefully so that learning stays structured, accessible, and aligned with program competencies.

The workshop closed by reinforcing the keys to successful ODeL and ETEEAP implementation at BSU: institutional readiness, quality instructional materials, qualified faculty, appropriate assessment, and learner-centered approaches.
