Benguet State University successfully launched the Open University Program in 1997 pursuant to University Board Resolution No. 798 series of 1997. It allows anybody to learn at their own pace, time, and location, breaking down barriers and creating new opportunities. The BSU-Open University offers open, distance, and eLearning options to help individuals who want to pursue higher education or improve their qualifications but can’t join traditional classes.

With open learning, education becomes more flexible and accessible to everyone. It removes common barriers like age, location, busy schedules, and financial challenges, making it easier for anyone to learn at their own pace. In distance education, teachers and students don’t have to be in the same place or at the same time.
